Monday’s high winds were from the south. They caused flooding in the northern parts of the Pamlico Sound and some Outer Banks locations. Here in Oriental – high south winds lower our water levels. This was the the view of the Duck Pond from Main St – water levels down from normal by about 18 inches to almost 2 feet. The wind will come from the north Tuesday… and water levels will come back up.
