Wally leads what is called Sail To The Sun – where new cruisers join Wally for what is often their first ICW voyage south. They start in Hampton VA and travel the ICW all the way to Miami. Tuesday night they stayed in Oriental… taking up all of town dock spaces and a few at Oriental Marina Inn.

It’s is election day in Oriental. There are 5 candidates… for five commissioner positions. While write-in candidates are possible, the likely outcome is not in much doubt. Candidate Frank Roe took his 1956 pickup to the area just outside the polling station (where it is legal to be) for some last minute campaigning.
