European Chamber Music Trio Comes To Oriental
November 4, 2007
The Arman Trio is coming this Friday November 9. What is the Arman Trio? Expect an impassioned performance influenced by chamber music traditions of Central Europe with a dose of "elegant French panache."

The Arman Trio - cellist Dorel Fodoreanu, pianist Deniz Arman Gelenbe and violinist Constantin Bogdanas. |
Le Point magazine in Paris (a publication that may have more chamber music writing experience than TownDock.net) hails the trio as a "meeting at the summit."
Since 1998 The Arman Trio has performed throughout Europe and North America, including performing several times at New York's Carnegie Weill Hall.

The Pamlico Music Society talks performers that are used to playing in places like the hall at left (that would be Carnegie Hall in New York) into playing at our somewhat more modest hall - Oriental's Old Theater. (Carnegie Hall photo courtesy Martin Dürrschnabel) |
Juilliard trained Turkish pianist Deniz Arman Gelenbe, described as "one of the best chamber musicians of our time" (Paris-Normandie) and a "romantic pianist" (Washington Times) has performed as soloist with orchestras worldwide including the Japan Philharmonic, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Slovak Chamber Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony and in numerous recitals including at the Salles Gaveau (Paris), Tonhalle (Zurich), Wigmore Hall (London), and The National Gallery of Art (Washington DC).
Bucharest Conservatory graduate violinist Constantin Bogdanas was a first prize winner at the Tibor Varga Competition while cellist Dorel Fodoreanu, also a graduate of Bucharest Conservatory won top honors at the Enesco Competition. Together they were awarded First Prize at the Paris Chamber Music competition in 1981 and the Charles Cross Award with the Athenaeum-Enesco Quartet of which they are both founding members. Constantin Bogdanas was the Concertmaster of Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and is on the faculty at the Conservatoire Francis Poulenc in Paris.
