Like many people who stroll the streets of Oriental, you may have stopped to take in the view of a home or yard. You have a chance to venture into some of them for 6 hours on Saturday, April 21, 2018 during the Tour of Homes. From 10a to 4p, you can visit more than a half dozen homes* in this fundraiser for Oriental’s History Museum and St. Thomas Episcopal Church Women.

The list of homes includes the old Town Hall, Jail and Electric Light Plant, an updated condo in the old Grade School House, a South Avenue home with Craftsman-style details; another South Avenue home with stunning river views, an updated home with gardens front and back; on a boat house built up and out of what had been the Pentecostal Holiness Church; a modern-style home on Whittaker Creek graced by a Zen garden.

Tickets $20 – available at Nautical Wheelers and at Oriental’s History Museum (802 Broad Street. Hours: Fri 11-3, Sat 1-4, Sun 1-4. .
