The Oriental Tree Board leads an Arbor Day celebration on Saturday March 24, 2018 with two free workshops. First, a Tree Pruning Workshop at 9a across from the Oriental’s Farmers’ Market on Hodges Street. Tree Board chair and retired professor of Urban Forestry, Bob Miller will show how properly pruning young trees can train them to be structurally sound, and resistant to hurricanes.

The workshop then migrates to Lupton Park, for a 10:30a Tree Planting Demonstration. There, you can pick up tips on how to select and plant a tree to boost its chances of survival and a long life. It’s all free and open to the public. Lupton Park is
