The sailboat race for the little boats, the Greens Creek Challenge, is coming up on Saturday, September 22. Oriental Dinghy Club is organizing this race for boats under 20 feet. Race course is in Greens and Smith Creeks, with launching from the Wildlife Ramp at the end of Midyette Street. ODC asks that those planning to take part, register in advance via the ODC website”:odc.
On Saturday the 22, there will be a chance for more registration at the sign-in at 8:15a, which will be followed by a skippers’ meeting at 9:15. Plan is for one race in the morning, followed by a hot-dog lunch next to the ramp at Grace Evans’ lawn, and then an afternoon race, with staggered starts, based on the morning race outcomes. This is a race for all ages, the only limit being the ‘under 20 feet’ criteria.
