Tony Craig traveled the back roads of North Carolina, took photos of old general stores that became part of his book, Country Stores of NC. You can see some of those photos in a special exhibit now thru December 2016 at Oriental’s History Museum. Also on display is the work of artist and illustrator Sue Blanchard, who draws on memories of growing up among old barn buildings, country stores and frayed quilts.

The Museum is located at 802 Broad Street in Oriental. Hours are: Friday 11-3, Saturday 1-4, Sunday 1-4. Admission is always free. For more information contact them at 252-249-1870 or museum@dockline.net.
