amble along the streets of Oriental on October 17 and you’ll hear varying styles of roots music. The Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival is free to attend. No admission charged.

You can pitch in, though.

At this year’s fest, attendees are welcome to leave tips for the musicians. Jars will be on the porches.

The festival itself could use your support, so that we can be an ongoing event and grow. You can contribute in a couple of ways.

Buttons. The Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival is selling buttons designed by artist Marguerite Garrett. The pin-on buttons are selling for $5 apiece. Proceeds from their sale go to the festival. Join the many people who are wearing them already. They’re a great way to show your support for the festival and to help advertise it. You can get your button at the OFPMF or in advance at Nautical Wheelers, Marsha’s Cottage, Town Hall and by calling Donna Luh at 252-249-1190.

Sponsors This year the OFPMF gratefully welcomes sponsors to help us defray costs of putting on the festival. You can sponsor a porch, the porch for the final concerts of the day, a golf cart, even a porta-john. As a sponsor your donation will be publicly acknowledged both in our program and on site.
