I am selling my beloved 1989 Irwin 43 MKIII, Center Cockpit Sloop. U.S.Coast Guard Documented vessel, Hailing Port is Orential, NC.

Sailed and located, on the nearly freshwater of the Neuse River, in North Carolina. She’s also visited the Bahamas several times. A true “Island Hopper”.

She is docked at the owner’s home, 20 miles West of Orential, NC, In New Bern, NC.

New Doyle Sails in 2016. Four (4) Reef Points in the Main Sail, eliminating the need for a Storm Trysail. 150% Genoa with Sacrificial Strip on an Harken Furler.

Asymmetrical Spinnaker with Sock. Spinnaker Pole.
Upper lifelines are replaced by 1” Stainless Steel Tube all around.

All lines are led aft to the cockpit. Six, 2 speed, self tailing winches in Cockpit. All Garhauer stainless Turning Blocks,Pulleys and 11 Rope Clutches. A well thought out, Port and Starboard Boom Preventer makes Jibes safer.
Two private cabins, each with a full head including Shower Stalls. Queen Sized Berth in aft cabin. A large Vee-Berth in the forward cabin. Two Bunks just aft of mid ship, port side make an excellent Sea Berth.

Galley layout is the Benchmark of Irwin Yachts. Three burner, gimbaled propane stove with oven. Large refrigerator, Double Sink, Pressurized Water. Kinetico, K5 water filtration system, delivers “Bottle Quality” water from the water tanks.

She is powered by a Yanmar, HTE-HTBE, 66 hp Turbo Diesel. Engine runs strong and dependable. Engine hours are approximately 4100 hours. New Starter, and Sea Water Pump and Impeller installed this year.
Three 8-D Batteries are installed where the original Diesel Generator was. The two (2) American built Solar Panels, 130 Watts each, keeps the Refrigerator freezing cold at Anchor indefinitely. Wind generator ready.

This well maintained vessel has had a large, residential Dehumidifier running down below decks 24-7-365, since 2002.

Cape Cutter 19 Gaff Cutter designed by Dudley Dix. Complete CNC kit cut in 2025 from Joubert okoume plywood by one of the most experienced plywood kit suppliers in the world, Chesapeake Light Craft (CLC).

The bulkheads have been assembled with West System epoxy, including clear Douglas Fir deck beams bent into Nos. 4 and 5 as required. The transom has been laminated to the correct radius from three sections of marine plywood and West System epoxy. The laminated stem has likewise been assembled with West System. None of the stringers have been installed, all bulkheads and the transom can readily be removed from the building frame and stacked for shipping. Delivery to Oriental NC may be possible as we have relatives living in New Bern (we used to live in Oriental ourselves - miss the place).

Complete set of plans and building instructions from Dudley Dix Yacht Design.

All components in 'like-new' condition, always stored in a conditioned dry garage.
