| Habitat for Humanity of Pamlico County January 17,2025
RESTORE at 616 Main St. Bayboro, NC With the passing of the former president of the United States James Earl Carter Jr. and recognizing his personal support of Habitat for Humanity for many years, it is to be expected that the hundreds of Habitat Affiliates in the United States will miss him. One of the Affiliates is Habitat for Humanity of Pamlico County, NC, which was founded in 2003 when “Jimmy” was only 79 years old. The Mission of Habitat Affiliates is to provide decent housing for people in their local community, and to help families build or improve a place they can call home. How do we do it? Habitat does NOT provide FREE Houses. Instead, houses are built by licensed professionals who are helped by Habitat Volunteers, which reduces the labor cost. However, building materials for a house are expensive. Lumber, siding, roofing, bathroom fixtures, appliances, kitchen cabinets, and more are all needed. Affiliates raise money to fund the purchase of building materials by operating a Restore. Furniture and household items that are donated to the Restore are sold and proceeds from the store are used fund building costs. The Pamlico County Restore at 616 Main St. in Bayboro is operated by Volunteers! Habitat of Pamlico County has a history of success. Several families have been able to afford the purchase a Habitat house. Several additional families have had unsafe living conditions corrected by Habitat at no charge to the family. Monitory donations to Habitat of Pamlico County are always welcome and appreciated. But to continue the Mission, we need additional Volunteers for our Restore. Please consider donating some of your time. Just a few hours a week will make a big difference. Visit us at the Restore or call the store at 252 745-0609 to so we can discuss Volunteering with you. The Restore is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 10 AM to 3 PM. Habitat will thank you, and the families helped will be extremely grateful!!! |

During this special season of giving, please help us ensure our elderly community receives the respect and care they need. Pamlico County Foundation for the Aged, Inc. PCFA is a non-profit foundation which raises funds to help local elderly people in need. When money budgeted by the County has been depleted, PCFA steps in to fund the delivery of nutritional midday meals, provision for emergency temporary housing, and the building of exterior home ramps for the mobility challenged.
