Artist Laura Turgeon is Drawing The Town

Taking the ferry across the Neuse at Minnesott Beach is one of the relaxing parts of Pamlico County life. A bridge gets proposed every now and then… it might be quicker, but it wouldn’t lower blood pressure like a ferry ride does.

This month the ferries are in the news – the schedule at Minnesott was changed. Laura Turgeon spent some time viewing a ferry – The Floyd J. Lupton. This is what the NC Ferry Division calls a “River Class” boat. Assigned to the Cherry Branch – Minnesott route, it can hold up to 40 cars, is 180 ft long and has a draft of 6 ft.
