Pamlico Sheriff Department detective says Robert Miller remains in a Greenville hospital, two months after he suffered multiple gun shot wounds.

Miller’s case has been a rarity in Oriental. On September 19, the former attorney was shot while on board “Twitchin,’” the boat he was living on at Clancy’s Marina. Miller called 911 and with a compromised voice, said that he’d been shot.

Police have had little more to go on. “He hasn’t provided real details,” says Lieutenant Scott Houston. Miller has been on a ventilator and “not been able to talk,” according to Houston.

The case, now two months on. remains an active investigation, with the Sheriff’s Department and SBI both investigating. Houston says they have “absolutely ruled out” that the shooting was a suicide attempt.
