The Bean at the harbor in Oriental is a village institution. Folks use it both to sit and meet with friends or to grab a cup of coffee on the run.On Monday Bean owner Eric Kindle opened Bean #2 on Highway 55 in Bayboro. The new location is just across from the Pamlico County Courthouse. TownDock.net visited the “Bayboro Bean” Tuesday and found Eric keeping up with a brisk business of new customers.

A steady line-up of customers, and in the foreground, teas, at the New Bean. The Highway 55 location will likely give the new location more “grab a quick cup” customers than the Oriental Bean.

You can sit and relax at The Bayboro Bean too. Like the Oriental Bean, the new Bean features free wireless internet for customers.

The new couch at the new Bean. It’s comfy. It’s leather. Some customers at the “Old Bean” are jealous and have been heard plotting how to kidnap it.
In a building that was once a laundromat, and then an ambulance service, the new Bayboro Bean has set up shop. The new location is open Monday thru Friday 6:30a til 7p, Saturday 7:30a til 5p, Sunday 7:30a til 4p.
As warmer weather approaches Bean owner Eric Kindle says an ice cream shop will also be opened at the Bayboro Bean, and that will be open later weekend hours.
