Quaff a craft beer, eat a brat, and help bring music to the porches of Oriental. The New Village Brewery & Taproom hosts a benefit on Saturday August 11 for the upcoming Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival. Things get going at 5:30p. For every pint of beer sold at the fundraiser, Brewery owners Lili and Frank Bacon will donate $1 to the OFPMF. Leslie and Jimmy Kellenberger will match each donation up to $200 and Jimmy (The Man With a Grill) will be serving up brats and other Octoberfest fare.

Local bluegrass group, Harbor Sounds – starts playing at 6p and will be giving away CDs. There will also be a silent auction for 4 tickets – w parking pass – to an NC State football game. You’ll find OFPMF hats, shirts and buttons for sale to help support the festival, which is coming up October 5-7. The Brewery, at 702 Broad Street in Oriental sponsors monthly fundraising events for non-profit groups.
