Tree of Names and Lights

Oriental resident Grace Evans is reviving an old tradition: The Tree of Names and Lights. For a $5 donation, a candle ornament with the name of a loved one (person or pet) is placed on the Tree of Names and Lights in Lou Mac Park. A red bow on the candle is ‘In Honor of’ and a green bow is ‘In Memory of’.

The tree is lit at 4p, Saturday Dec 14, after the Spirit of Christmas parade. It will remain up until New Year’s Day (weather permitting).

Please send all information (In Honor or In Memory, and the name) and donations to:
Grace Evans
PO Box 355
Oriental, NC 28571
Make checks out to: OBCF, and in the memo write: Ocracoke Disaster Relief

Donations will be accepted through (and added to the tree until) December 31, 2019. Donations will go to the Ocracoke Recovery Fund managed by the Outer Banks Community Foundation (OBCF).
