Those of us who waded into Hurricane Florence surge saw that it wasn’t pretty stuff. Brown, mucky… looked like mud n’ pig poop and other unmentionables. Smelled accordingly afterwards.
A NASA satellite has captured a local view – the Atlantic waters just off Cape Lookout. This image is from Sept 19 – showing the New River at left… and more to the right (labeled) Adams Creek emptying into Beaufort and then the Atlantic. NASA terms it “soils, sediments, decaying leaves, pollution, and other debris.”
