More Pipe Dragons Appear in Oriental | June 19, 2018

Green ventilation pipes appeared after the upgrade to Oriental’s sewer system. The pipes were soon transformed into dragons. The first was at Fay Bond’s. Since then, two more have appeared on Neuse St. This one was Neuse and 1st. Click through for the bigger pic, and other Oriental dragons.

Fender on the Dock | June 14, 2018

What to call this style of fender? Discussions were had. Ball fender (the obvious choice), round fender (the observant choice), or bowling fender (the inspired choice)? Senior staff has their favorite. Whatever you may call it, it’s there on the town dock, keeping boat from meeting dock.

OCR Nevermoore 2017 Race | June 13, 2018

Nevermoore mid-race in the 2017 Oriental Cup Regatta. If you want to hone your crewing skills (in anticipation of that big race), you can go out to Marker #1 this evening for a little practice. More information on how you can show up for the Wednesday Night Sail, here. FYI, the Wed Night Sail is informal – no need to be a racing sailor (or have a racing boat.) Youth Sailing For 2018 Returns Monday | June 9, 2018

The 2018 youth sailing program season kicks off this Monday – young sailors from age 6 to 15 learn how to sail @ Bow To Stern in Oriental. They even have to work – at the end of the day putting their boats back on land. Check out this 2017 video…
