The Village Gallery welcomes March’s Artist of the Month, Susan Cheatham.

Susan is a founding member of Art on the Neuse and the Coastal Carolina Plein Air Painters, where artists have been participating in once-a-week outdoor painting locations since 2007.

For a decade, she studied with Susan Sarback, a Sacramento California artist, at her school of Color and Light. Susan learned a technique called ‘full color seeing” and uses this process to create paintings using color notes.

She has been involved with galleries and artist collectives in Raleigh, Oriental, Morehead City, and New Bern. Susan presently has a studio in New Bern, NC on Middle Street with four other artists.

The Village Gallery is at 300 Hodges St in Oriental, open 10a until 5p, Wed – Sun. The Gallery displays the art of more than 30 member and consigned artists. For more information, call 252-249-0300 or visit villagegallerync.com.
