SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT

Pastor Anne of Oriental United Methodist Church and Reverend Adam Christiansen of Pamlico Presbyterian Church hold The Blessing of the Animals, Sunday, Oct 11 at 2p at the Labyrinth on South Ave, across from Lou Mac Park. (Rain date Sunday, Oct 18)
The Blessing of the Animals service is a tradition in many Catholic and Episcopal Churches, and many Methodist Churches. It’s a simple service consisting of a brief prayer. Pets may then be brought forward for an individual blessing, in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi.
All pets and animals are welcome. Bring your cats, dogs, birds, and more. Blessings have and can be given to horses, lizards, hogs, snakes, spiders – whatever your animal companion may be. Children are welcome to bring their stuffed animals for a blessing. Clergy ask only that they are on a leash or properly contained.
If your pet does not do well with others, please use a carrier or bring a picture of your pet. If your animal companion has passed away, feel free to bring a photo or just bring them in your heart.
Donations for the Pamlico Pet Food Pantry – gifts of dry dog or cat food – are very much appreciated.
