Five tales of O. Henry adapted by Bill Hand of the North Carolina History Theater. Friends, Lovers & All That Other Stuff happens Saturday, Jan 17 at 7:30p and Sunday, Jan 18 at 3p.
NCHT has adapted five short stories, each with a different director:
• “Makes the whole World Kin,” in which a burglar finds he shares a curious trait with his latest victim.• “Mammon and the Archer,” a soap magnate pulls strings to help his son’s love life along.
• “Sound and Fury,” an author is driven crazy by his teasing typist.
• “The Cop and the Anthem,” a New York City bum finds it ridiculously hard to get himself arrested so he can spend the winter in a warm jail.
• “The Last Leaf,” a hopeful tale about a dying artist.
Box Office opens one hour before the show and doors open half hour before showtime. Admission is $25, or $20 for Old Theater members, military, and students with ID. Tickets can be purchased online here or at the door.
