Join the Sound Rivers staff and board members Sunday, Aug 6 for Loose on the Neuse – an annual river cleanup and outdoor festival.

Check-in is 9a at Riverbend Park in Raleigh, NC. Participants are shuttled to their kayaks on the river or, if you choose to clean up by land, to Horseshoe Park (the greenway clean-up is 1.5 miles from Horseshoe Park to Riverbend Park) so you can take in the scenery.

Rafts with water and beverages will be staged along the water ways for volunteers to enjoy and keep cool.

After the clean-up, meet down the street at Heyday Brewing from 2 to 4p to celebrate.

Loose on the Neuse logo T-shirts, pint glasses and stickers are given to all participants. Prizes awarded for “Best Instagram Photo” of the clean-up, “Most Interesting Piece of Trash” and the “Trash Monster Prize,” to the dirtiest and most-dedicated litter terminator. Items will be raffled off at $5 for eight tickets, $20 for 16, or $20 for 30 tickets.

15% of proceeds from total sales go to Sound Rivers, as well as raffle ticket proceeds ensuring that the river you just helped clean up will remain protected year-round.
