The US Coast Guard Auxiliary teaches Boat America on Saturday, Jun 27, from 9a – 5p at Riverdale UMC, 5195 US-70E, New Bern, NC.

Many insurance companies offer discounts on boat insurance for having completed this course.

Taught by certified instructors, course topics include: Before getting underway, Navigating the waterways, Operating your vessel safely, Legal requirements of boating, Handling boating emergencies.

This is a one-day basic boating safety course. The cost is $30 with $10 for an additional person sharing the same textbook. Fee includes textbook, certificate of completion, and a wallet card.

Persons born in 1988 or later must complete an approved boating education course before operating any vessel propelled by a motor of 10 HP or greater.
