The Village Gallery welcomes December’s Artist of the Month, Pappy Khouri.

Pappy began his painting career almost a decade ago. He works in an impressionistic style, fostered by workshops with artists Dan Beck, Gosia Tojza and more. He’s also been known to do plein air paintings of Oriental Harbor, while standing on the deck of the Village Gallery (his studio is inside).

“I invite you to sit in one of the rocking chairs on the porch of The Village Gallery in Oriental, North Carolina. In front of you is the town’s working harbor. Colorful shrimp boats, visiting sailboats, recreational powerboats, an occasional dolphin and lots of sightseers. This is where I draw my inspiration. I love to paint the harbor and the boats that frequent it.” Pappy has eighteen new pieces on display this December.
