Make a film in 48 hours. Watch it during The Old Theater Film Festival Weekend, Jan 27 – 29.
It’s the Unofficial Official Small Town 48 Hour Film Project. Gather your crew and get ready.
Here are the rules:
1. Films must be made during the 48 hours between 7p, Friday January 13 and 7p, Sunday January 15, 2023.
2. You must use three elements in your film: a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue that will be announced at the beginning of the event. Every film crew must use the same three elements.
3. Pick a genre out of a hat. Each film crew gets to pick twice, then decide which to use in their film. Genres can be combined, but the agreed upon genre must be represented.
4. All filmmaking endeavors – writing the script, rehearsing, costumes/set design, shooting, editing, outputting to USB drive or other media – must occur during the designated 48 hours.
5. All films must be submitted by the deadline on 7p Sunday, or it will not count for the competition.
No stock footage, or footage created at another time is allowed. Still photographs are permitted. No fee to enter. Awards given in multiple categories.
Prior to the kickoff you should organize your crew and cast, secure equipment, scout your locations, and know your software.
