We received former resident David Cox’s obituary from his family last week. It was published here.Frank Roe writes in, remembering David:
To the Editor:I remember David Cox for many enjoyable conversations at The Bean. While we came from different political persuasions, that never kept us from enjoying each other’s company.
David was a wealth of information—especially when it came to U.S. history, naval ships, or NATO. When our conversations drifted into policy or government affairs, David always listened attentively and responded with intelligent, practical insights. Sometimes, we just agreed to disagree—and that was fine.
Occasionally, Elizabeth would join us, making for an even more stimulating morning. And of course, June always added her humor and good cheer.
David was passionate, but never hateful. He was articulate, but never afraid to listen.
I truly enjoyed interacting with him. David Cox was a gentleman, and I will miss him.
