Eighty three cars rolled in to the 5th Oriental Classic Car Show Saturday. More than a third of those came from outside Pamlico County: Raleigh, Hillsborough, and even Smithfield, Va.

A 1953 Dodge Coronet was painted to resemble the car of racing legend Lee Petty.Owner of the Dodge Coronet, Charlie Daniels (not that fiddle playing Charlie Daniels), even had a picture of Richard Petty checking out the racing replica.
The Dodge Coronet details were carefully chosen: Lee Petty’s name, Petty’s #42, and the advertisement for Wynn’s Oil.The 2020 Oriental Classic Car Show has been scheduled for Saturday, October 10.
