For the second year in a row, over a hundred collegiate sailors invaded Oriental over the weekend for the annual SailPack Regatta.Held by North Carolina State University and hosted in Oriental, it is the 4th year for the Regatta overall. Dana Magliola, coach of the NC State SailPack sailing team, organizes the interconference event alongside student leaders. Each year, teams compete in the ICSA (Intercollegiate Sailing Association) sanctioned race, racing a fleet of FJs or Flying Juniors, a sailing dinghy measuring just over 13 feet in length. The boats are furnished by Jim Edwards and his team at Bow to Stern Sailing.

Students were also treated to barbecue and live music at The Silos on Saturday night.
