Harborfest for HeartWorks 2022
Gala raises funds for children's center

arborfest, the largest annual fundraiser for the non-profit HeartWorks, was held at the HeartWorks Safe Harbor Youth Center in Bayboro for the second year in a row.

HeartWorks director Karen Prince said there were nearly 200 in attendance at the event. Attendees enjoyed a catered dinner from The Chelsea, danced to music by The Entertainers, and toured the kindergarten classroom in the center’s new addition.

Ten items, ranging from an oyster dinner for 20 people to fishing guide services to handmade furniture, brought in several thousand dollars. There is no final total from the auctions and donations as the online auction (containing nearly 100 items) continues through 5p on October 2.

Online auction items were set up in the children’s auditorium, and displayed alongside the ‘children’ from the 2019 Harborfest.

HeartWorks his a 501c3 helping children and families in Pamlico County by providing afterschool and summer programs. They address the underserved mental and physical needs of the community’s youth.
