Janet is the painter, David, the photographer. The Jaworskis are showing their work at the Village Gallery as co-artists of the month for August. They take their inspirations from the landscapes near their home in Carteret County, Janet often painting from David’s photos as a reference.
Janet & David’s work rests against the walls and benches of a back room until gallery owner Judy Wayland decides where they will best be displayed.Listen to Janet talk about her work and what inspires her:
In the last year, Janet opened a coastal art gallery in Morehead City – Impressions Art Gallery – and moved her painting studio there. Both her work, David’s, and that of other coastal artists are on display.
Photography, David says, gave him something to look forward to while working at the hospital during the pandemic. He’s still at work full time – 7 twelve hour days days on and 7 days off – as a hospitalist at Carteret Health Care.
