The Dragon Burn, hosted by the Pamlico Arts Council, is rescheduled for Friday, June 12. The burn was originally scheduled for March 28, but a statewide burn ban halted that. The burn ban has been lifted.
What’s a Dragon Burn? Usually, a dragon effigy is constructed behind the Red Rooster Bar (located behind the Silos Restaurant). This year, the Chinese Lunar calendar celebrates the Year Of The Horse. And so a horse effigy was created.
There’s food, a cash bar, and music; the Southern Hellcats play the Red Rooster Stage, the Drummin’ Dragons and Oriental’s Chinese Dragon joins in. Gates open at 6p. The horse effigy burns after sundown.
This is a ticketed event and membership drive. $25 for individuals, or $50 gets you and your family in the gate and signed as a member for the Pamlico County Arts Council.
