Saturday, February 21, folks gathered on Hodges Street to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a parade. Out came the town’s two smaller dragons (imported from China), red and gold banners, and noisemakers of the pot-and-pan variety.

Larry Summers leads the annual Chinese New Year Parade.Participants cheer on the dragons as they – and their humans handlers beneath them – dance by the harbor, cheered on by the crowds that line the street.
The Chinese New Year Parade happens every year during the two week Lunar New Year Festival.
