Art on the Neuse 2009
Photos From The Exhibition
June 24, 2009

A
rt on the Neuse drew many artists to Oriental Marina on Saturday June 19. Here’s a sampling of some of the art on view:

If you can have coffee tables, why not fish tables? Marlene Miller was displaying her latest “canvases”.
Julie Gaines used the time to paint. She overheard one child say to his mother, “Look! A real artist working.”
Deb Iannitto’s enamel work.
A familiar landmark that’s not even on land: the boathouse and old boat on Highway 55 near Stonewall. The painting of the scene was by D. Bland.
Laura Barnett makes fish out of gourds and recycled guitar strings that she gets from guitar shops in Raleigh where she lives.
The bigger strings may be bass and the fish they are on may be bass, too.
“Rather Be Home” — a sentiment many sailors have known — is the title of this painting by Joan Russell.
