rt on the Neuse was scheduled to take place, rain or shine, in defiance of last year’s storm and subsequent rescheduling. The weather took notice and delivered a cloudy, rain free day for the event. The offerings ranged from wearables to wind chimes and paintings to pottery. Some artists from years past braved the uncertain weather while others set up their tent in Oriental for the first time. Both artists and visitors enjoyed the unexpectedly dry weather.

Gail Midyette of Neuse River Driftwood says it’s the little details that are important, like these barnacles at the mirror’s edge.

Strong winds off the harbor threatened to send these driftwood boats sailing onto the ground.
