Art on the Neuse 2017
Photos from 14th Annual Arts FestivalMay 16, 2017
Art on the Neuse was scheduled to take place, rain or shine, in defiance of last year’s storm and subsequent rescheduling. The weather took notice and delivered a cloudy, rain free day for the event. The offerings ranged from wearables to wind chimes and paintings to pottery. Some artists from years past braved the uncertain weather while others set up their tent in Oriental for the first time. Both artists and visitors enjoyed the unexpectedly dry weather. The view from slightly above: artists ready for what the weather might bring.Gail Midyette of Neuse River Driftwood says it’s the little details that are important, like these barnacles at the mirror’s edge.Strong winds off the harbor threatened to send these driftwood boats sailing onto the ground.Bear Hands Art displays several colorful jars so you can choose one that is neither too big, nor too small, but just right.Suzanne Burchfiel creates hand tatted designs for the lace enthusiast…..but if you’re feeling more like a spicy treasure that knows their worth, Suzanne can help you with that, tooShould you prefer your jewelry with a bit of a bite, Janine at Beth’s Beads has you covered.Irma Bond’s frog is ready to leap off the canvas.[page]
