here was no prom last year for Pamlico High School students – it was cancelled along with everything else when COVID-19 hit.

With state regulations easing, and infection rates slowly decreasing, Pamlico High School held their prom this year, with a twist.

A tent was pitched next to the parking lot to keep it safe, allowing an outdoor dance.

It was the junior/senior prom – for those graduating in 2021 and 2022. Teachers said more students attended this year than any in the recent past, but it still took an hour before people hit the dance floor.
