Dancing witches, a child sized robot, and one Bumble Beegle. They were all out at the corner of King and First Streets for Saturday night’s Witches Crawl.
Witches dancing on the lawn during Saturday night’s first performance.The Witches Crawl began as a true ‘crawl’ through town, visiting the restaurants and breweries and dancing for donations. Now, the ladies post up on the lawn at King and First Streets and perform four times on the last Saturday of October.
During Halloween, a beagle becomes a bee-gle.Parents, kids, and pets – some in costume – lined the road to watch the Witches dance for a good cause. This year, their chosen charity was Hope Clinic – a Pamlico County nonprofit that helps the medically needy or underinsured.
Fay Bond, one of Oriental’s oldest residents and dancing witch, presided over the event from her witches’ chair.
