On Oriental’s Duck Pond Dragon this week, a green heron, which isn’t green at all. Birder Liz Lathrop tells us it’s the smallest of the herons and that this one is an adult; that’s about as big as it will get. Green herons nest here and can sometimes be seen fishing under docks.
