It’s the weekend storm, maybe named Nestor. It’s been Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 for a couple days, but today the disturbance is supposed to become a storm. Sunday morning we are expected to get 2-4 inches of rain and a bit of wind along with it. Winds maybe up to the 30s, with a hint of 40s possible. More about Potentially Nestor at this link.

Chair Recovery Dragnet | October 11, 2019

Dragnet Oriental: Oriental Police Officer Nic Blayney & Public Works Andrew Cox out today on the Neuse, recovering chairs. How come? Here’s the story from Town Hall:

Last night someone(s) felt the need to push our collection of Adirondack chairs (some of which were purchased and placed as memorials) at Lou Mac Park over the edge and into the river. Some have been recovered and re-placed at the park. A couple were broken and may or may not be able to be repaired. Any information on the person or persons responsible would be greatly appreciated.
The search and rescue team found at least two chairs. Contact Town Hall if you have any info.
