Artist Laura Turgeon is Drawing The Town

Irene Clean
September 2011

In Oriental we get a thrill upon learning a handsome traditional craft is in the harbor. Its finely finished wood lights up the eye. Even a well kept fiberglass hull with a purposeful cruising lines draws a little village crowd.

Post Irene, delight gets simple. Real simple.

Ahhh, the sweet smell of bleach. And after a couple weeks of seeing debris and general %$#@ piled up in front of homes throughout town… excitement comes in the sound of approaching steel and diesel muscle.

Laura Turgeon’s quick drawing hand captured an excavator on Midyette St. We’ll call it a Hurricane Shovel, out to make it clean after Irene.
