2026 PAWS Pet Parade - March 28The 2026 PAWS Pet Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 28.
It is the 19th annual celebration of the canines in Oriental. The parade sets out on the streets near Lou Mac Park at 11a. Dogs and their humans can register from 10-11a that morning at the Lou Mac Park staging area.
Entry fee $5 per dog. All vaccinations must be up to date and PAWS asks you leash your dog. Creative canine costumes are optional but highly encouraged. Prizes awarded in many categories, including bribing a judge.
This year Broad Strokes Galley sponsors a raffle for a pet portrait by artist Kevin Fetzer, of your favorite dog or cat. Raffle tickets available at the gallery, Oriental Village Veterinary and at the pet parade. ($10 for one ticket or $25 for three tickets) All proceeds to PAWS.
The PAWS hot dog cart will have refreshments available for purchase. Proceeds from the parade and hot dog cart are used to assist the animals of Pamlico County.
