Residents in and around Oriental put their gently used treasures out for sale on the first Saturday in May. It’s a chance to lighten or add to whatever collection you may have.

Need a lamp? Your choice of helix, house, or traditional style.

Some of it went for free, while other items were marked down as the day wore on.

Plants at the corner of Church and Factory Streets – free to a good home.

In some cases, what didn’t go to a new home Saturday, went to Habitat for Humanity or other county charities at the end of the day.

Much of the light weight furniture was whisked away in cars before 9a. The heavier stuff waited for trucks until the afternoon.

On Lupton Rd, several paper charts waited for the next sail.

Plants for sale – $1 each – at the Oriental Woman’s Club annual plant sale.

Dishes, glassware, and kitchen items were featured heavily at several yard sales.

A feather mask, for when you’re feeling fancy.
