The parade and fireworks were highlights of CroakerFest, yet the festival honoring the humble croaker fish, aka the American Grumbler, is more than those events. There were many other scenes during the weekend, starting with Friday afternoon’s opening ceremony with the Pamlico Chorale and Pamlico Community Band.Attendee at Croakerfest’s opening ceremony on Friday afternoon found a way to fend off the sun while watching the Pamlico Community Band play.Two of the judges sample a taste of baked goods.
