arly voting for the Primary Elections is open now through Saturday, May 14. Election Day for the Primary Elections is Tuesday, May 17.

The Primary Election selects the candidates for each party, determining who will be on the ballot for the General Election in November. If you are registered with a party, you will receive that party’s ballot. If you are registered as an Unaffiliated voter, you can choose the ballot you’d like to vote on: Democratic, Libertarian, Non-Partisan, or Republican.

Early Voting

In Pamlico County, early voting takes place at the Pamlico County Courthouse from 8a-5p on weekdays, and 8a-3p on Saturday, May 14. The courthouse is at 202 Main Street in Bayboro.

During the Early Voting Period (now until Saturday, May 14), you can register to vote, or update your existing registration on the same day you vote.

Election Day Voting

Election Day for the Primary Elections is Tuesday, May 17. Those elections take place at your local polling place, from 6:30a to 7:30p. (See below for addresses.) If you are in line at 7:30, the location must stay open to allow you to vote.

There is no same day registration or updates allowed on Election Day, Tuesday May 17.
