Dear Salty,My husband, myself, and some friends were sitting on our boat at Whittaker creek the other night and were treated to our delight the sound of this great jazz saxophone and flute player, it really was great! This is what a saxophonist looks like – although it may not be this particular fellow that we’re looking for. Many other sailors on their boats were enjoying the soulful sound of this guy that gracefully echoed the night with his beautiful music, he played the flute, saxophone, and clarinet.
I only wonder if he could hear us with the standing ovation we gave him for such a wonderful night of jazz in Oriental! You really needs to find out who he is and do article on him.
It was a very enjoyable evening to remember, and if he’s reading this letter, WE ALL THANK YOU!!! for a really wonderful evening of great jazz.
So, who is the saxophone player?
Curiously,
Nadine
Dear Nadine,Oh my, Miss Salty does love a good mystery! How delicious to have such a spontaneous good time, and on a boat too!
Actually, I have also been serenaded on a boat at Whittaker Creek, unfortunately my evening did not end with a standing O-(or any other kind for that matter). It started out just fine- he actually had to use a corkscrew to open the wine (hint to all you single ladies- if he can open the wine with the twist of his wrist, Beware!! Screw tops are a sure sign that expensive jewels WILL NOT be in your future).
So, the wine was flowing and the stars were shining, and then it happened- he pulled out his harmonica! Now I must say- I am very into the arts and stuff, and I even enjoy the occasional accordian blast, but there is nothing sexy about a harmonica. And to make it worse- he only knew Tom Jones songs! Needless to say, the only rockin’ on the boat that night was from me launching myself onto the dock chased by strains of “What’s New Pussy Cat”.
Miss Salty’s unfortunate musical experienceSo, I am so glad to hear that someone has had a good musical experience at W.P. I will do what I can to track down your mystery musician – I am officially putting out a A.S.B. (that’s an All Salty Bulletin, darlin’) on our talented musician – if you know who Nadine heard making beautiful music, or if you are the talented musician in question , drop us a line (especially if you are male, cute, single, and of legal age- all that natural rhythm should not go to waste!).
Bless your music lovin’ heart,
Salty
